EPP Transfer Protection
Discover more information on EPP Transfer Protection and how it really protects a domain name.
Transferring a domain name from one registrar company to another commonly entails the use of a unique transfer code, which different companies call an EPP key, a domain name password or an Auth code. This code can be used as a security mechanism against unsolicited transfers with all gTLD and with most ccTLD extensions. It can be obtained only by the owner of the specific domain name and is provided by the present registrar company. It must be given to the new registrar company because the transfer process cannot be initiated without it. The code is case-sensitive and commonly contains digits and special characters, so as to prevent unauthenticated individuals from deciphering it. Certain registrar companies even change the codes of domain names registered through them after a given interval of time for better safety.

EPP Transfer Protection in Website Hosting
You can obtain the EPP transfer authorization code for any domain that you’ve registered with us with only several clicks of the mouse from the exact same Hepsia Control Panel that you’ll use to administer your website hosting account. As soon as you visit the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all your domains conveniently shown in alphabetical order. In case a certain TLD extension supports transfers between domain name registrars with an EPP transfer code, you will notice an EPP button to the right of the respective domain. If you click on that button, the code will be emailed to the email address associated with the Registrant contact for the given domain dame. If needed, you can update the contact info, including the email, without even leaving this section of the Control Panel, in case the current email address isn’t valid anymore.
- EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you have a semi-dedicated server account with us and you have registered a domain that you would like to transfer, you can get the EPP transfer authentication code stunningly easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer both your domain names and your account. If you go to the Registered Domains section, you will notice an EPP logo next to your domain names, as long as their extensions support transfers between domain registrars with such a code. All codes are emailed automatically by our system to the registrant’s email address to make sure that only the owner of the domain name can see this information. If the currently listed address isn’t valid, you can modify it with a few clicks of the mouse without leaving this section of the Control Panel. The change is instant, so you will be able to request the EPP transfer code for the specific domain name straight away. - EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
