A catch-all functionality that is enabled for a particular mailbox will allow you to receive emails that are sent to email addresses that do not actually exist. To state it differently, if you delete an email address and someone still sends an email message to it, or to any misspelled email address under the same domain name, you’ll receive the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality means that you will no longer miss an email for any reason whatsoever, which could be crucial if you are running a company, for instance. Since you may start receiving junk email messages, you can combine the catch-all feature with email filters so as to get only legitimate emails in your inbox. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
Creating a catch-all mailbox will be truly easy if you have a Linux website hosting plan with us. You can enable this feature through our powerful, albeit simple-to-use Email Manager tool, which is part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will manage the hosting account itself. You will see all the mailboxes that you’ve set up enumerated alphabetically and next to each one there will be a small "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously let you know whether a certain mailbox gets all the emails for a certain domain name or not. With a single mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable this option whenever you like. If there is active email forwarding or in case a different mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a particular domain name, you’ll receive a notification from our system. The latter won’t replace/deactivate anything automatically and without your permission.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel that comes with every semi-dedicated server plan that we offer will allow you to create a catch-all e-mailbox without any difficulties even in case you do not have much email/web hosting experience. All you have to do to accomplish that is click the catch-all icon, which will be next to each email address that you have created using your domains in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. As you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will let you know if you’ve already set up another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding enabled. If you decide that you do not want this feature any longer, you can remove it by clicking again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
