Ubuntu
Find out more on Ubuntu, how this modest Linux distro has taken the world by storm and why it’s presently so famous.
Ubuntu is a widespread desktop OS, which uses the Linux kernel, and its server version is getting really popular too. The main reason is the fact that the OS is amazingly light and it'll run on almost any kind of hardware without any issues, utilizing its resources to the max. Ubuntu is also extremely reliable and secure and all of the Long-Term Support (LTS) editions are supported for a minimum of five years, which warrants that you will have a secure and stable software environment on your website hosting server all the time. Furthermore, Ubuntu has one of the biggest user communities globally, so if you experience any problem or have any kind of question, you will discover a number of resources on the web. Among the key benefits of this OS is that it features a great number of software packages which can be freely adjusted in accordance with your needs and the requirements of the applications that you intend to run, not to mention that you won't have to pay any license fees at all. In contrast, other Operating Systems are paid and their code isn't accessible, thus it can't be changed.

Ubuntu in VPS Servers
Ubuntu is available with all our
VPS servers and you can purchase a VPS running it in just 1 hour. 32-bit and 64-bit editions of the OS are available, which means that you will be able to select the one which you need when the software that you wish to run on your server has specific system requirements regarding this. You can also select if your Ubuntu-powered VPS should be set up with no Control Panel, in which case you'll have full root access and you'll be able to install anything through a console; or if the Hepsia Control Panel should be installed on it, in which case you'll have a world wide web interface and all of the required web server, MySQL, FTP, mail server, etc. software will be pre-installed. The root access in the second case will be more limited, but such a setup is more effective for users with less experience. We can also maintain your Ubuntu up-to-date regularly when you add the Managed Services upgrade. You will be able to do so during the VPS order process or at any later time via your billing Control Panel.

Ubuntu in Dedicated Servers
Ubuntu is among the OS options which you'll find on our registration page if you choose to acquire one of our
Linux dedicated servers. We'll set up the 32-bit or the 64-bit release, in order to match the system requirements of the applications that you want to set up on the server. You may also choose the software that will run on your machine, because we will set up only the Apache web server software, so the rest can be custom-made software of your choice. You will be able to set up the latter without any problems using a Secure Shell console, as you'll receive root-level access and you'll get full control of your server. You can install a hosting Control Panel too and control some things using a graphical interface, as long as it can run on an Ubuntu-driven machine. To make things simpler for you, we also supply a Managed Services upgrade, that, among other things, contains OS upgrades.
